Why I built it

My aunt is an interior designer. When I told her about this hackathon, I asked her what the biggest problem in her work was. She said it’s hard to control a design and show it to a client at the same time. Designers end up flipping an iPad back and forth across the table or hauling extra monitors to meetings.

The iPhone Duo pretty much fixes that on its own. The designer holds the inside screen and controls everything. The client sits across the table and watches their space change on the outside.

I went in with basically no 3D experience. The last time I touched 3D was Tinkercad in middle school. The apartment model had about 3 million triangles, and one door alone was over a million, so a lot of the time went into cutting it down. Some furniture loaded tiny, some huge, some tipped over, because every model used different units. And since the Duo isn’t out yet, I had to work around the simulator to get both screens running.
